Ever Considered a “Procreation Vacation?”

Ever Considered a “Procreation Vacation?”

Interestingly, taking time off can increase your chances of conception!

Many women who aspire to become mothers have a hard time getting pregnant. Not necessarily for lack of trying (that burning desire and sense of urgency typically leads to plenty of sex), but simply because the human body has its own ways that we can’t really control.

There are various tips and solutions to increase the chances of getting pregnant or make it happen faster. The latest trend? Some couples go on a vacation specifically with the intent of procreating. But does it actually work?

Of course, this time away together gets the partners closer and more connected, the resulting bond and intimacy creating more opportunities for sex.

Also, a vacation means escaping the daily grind to relax and get rid of all stress—and as dozens of studies have shown stress is bad for fertility. It’s not just women’s hormones and sex drive that are affected; scientists have discovered that up to three major stress events in one year can decrease sperm count in men.

Here’s some advice…

  • Obviously, take your trip around the time of ovulation.
  • Choose a safe destination (ideally a country free of the Zika virus as determined by the Centers For Disease Control).
  • Believe it or not, some resorts specialize in procreation vacation. Just Google these words and you’ll get a number of results.
  • Plan activities outside of your hotel room that will allow you to relax, have fun and connect instead of just “getting to work” in the bed.

In the end, this new honeymoon may very well lead to a babymoon a few months later.
