Comedian Dave Chappelle and guitarist John Mayer have joined forces, and now, after a string of highly-acclaimed U.S. shows, they’re bringing the “Controlled Danger” experience to Canada for the first time, and it’s going to be in Montreal!
Throughout 2017, good friends Dave Chappelle & John Mayer, one an Emmy and GRAMMY® Award-winning comedian, the other a GRAMMY® Award-winning musician, played several intimate pop-up shows across the United States, ending the year with a sold out New Year’s Eve extravaganza at Los Angeles’ Forum. The two world-class performers will be coming to Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival for their first-ever Controlled Danger show in Canada.
No Cell Phones
It’s been tried and tested at Dave Chappelle’s U.S. shows, and now, cell phones will be strictly forbidden at this event too. It’s a controversial move: some people praise the distraction-free experience while others say banning cell phones infringes freedoms and causes safety concerns.
In any case, concert-goers are asked to either leave their phone at home or in their car, or have it locked in a pouch for the duration of the event.
