2014 Video of Louis Walsh Groping Mel B. Resurfaces

2014 Video of Louis Walsh Groping Mel B. Resurfaces

Embarrassing footage from a 2014 interview on the X Factor has resurfaced, and it’s got people wondering why on Earth this didn’t become a scandal back when it happened! Since Monday, the video has gone massively viral and online commentators have been lashing out furiously at Walsh, calling him “pathetic,” “creepy,” and worse.

In the clip, The X Factor judge Louis Walsh is seen first tapping, then grabbing and fondling Mel B.’s rear end. A visibly disgusted Mel B. first reacts by stopping the interview, then asking “Why are you grabbing my butt?” Walsh responds with “I’m looking after you” and Simon Cowell, who was also present, says “Trust me, you’re safe here,” to which Walsh erupts with laughter and scoots a little closer to Mel B.

See the whole incident for yourself:

Several commentators pointed out that this video perfectly outlines the difference the #MeToo movement has made on how we behave in everyday life. This incident may have passed under the radar back in 2014, but the same thing would NEVER be tolerated today.

Some online commentators had the best take on the incident, and why it displays the enormous social change we’ve witnessed the past months and years.
