In a shocking series of revelations, Kill Bill actress Uma Thurman has revealed what happened on set during the scene when she’s seen driving to Bill in a convertible. Towards the end of filming, Thurman crashed the car, suffering a serious concussion. She had been pressured into doing the stunt by Tarantino, who convinced her not to use a stunt double.

The circumstances of this event were negligent to the point of criminality. I do not believe though with malicious intent. Quentin Tarantino, was deeply regretful and remains remorseful about this sorry event

Miramax, the company behind Kill Bill, was headed by the notorious Harvey Weinstein at the time. Despite Thurman’s requests, they refused to release the crash footage. That changed this year, after Quentin Tarantino gave Thurman the footage. She has since posted it to her Instagram page along with a message explaining what happened.

She praised Tarantino for “doing the right thing” by releasing the footage. She also place severe blame on Miramax representative, including Weinstein, for covering up the incident.

THE COVER UP after the fact is UNFORGIVABLE. For this I hold Lawrence Bender, E. Bennett Walsh, and the notorious Harvey Weinstein solely responsible. They lied, destroyed evidence, and continue to lie about the permanent harm they caused and then chose to suppress.

Experts have said the accident could have been much worse, and in fact, Thurman’s life was quite probably in danger. Tarantino has since apologised profusely, calling the incident “one of my most horrendous mistakes”.

I deeply regret that Uma suffered the pain she has, both physically and emotionally, for all of these years from the accident that occurred on the set of Kill Bill.
