Should it depend how close you are to the person? Would you tell any friend that you see regularly? Some people seem to think it’s only appropriate to tell a VERY close friend…
It’s such a delicate situation that you have to be 100% - or even 1000% - sure of what’s going on before you reveal it. Even so, some people may choose to turn a blind eye.
On the other hand, if you don’t tell them and they eventually find out… You risk feeling guilty and anxious about it yourself.
