Have you ever wondered why grocery stores are designed the way they are? Why the doors are oriented a certain way? It turns out there’s a biological reason behind it!
That’s right! As Vinny and Nikki discussed this morning, grocery stores are actually oriented the way they are to take advantage of right-handed people. The entrance is on the right, and stores are designed so that customers go counter clockwise around the aisles.
The reason for this is that since most people are right-handed, we tend to grab things off the shelves… With our right hand!
However, there’s a way to “fight back” against this… All you have to do is go “against the flow” in your local grocery store. Go around the store clockwise and according to one study, you’ll save up to $100 per year! Neat, right?
