As the small rural town of Bethel, NY gears up for the 50th anniversary of the legendary 1969 Woodstock festival, a new leak has revealed potential headliners. The list is exciting, but also a far cry from the original festival!
The leaked lineup, posted to Twitter by rumor blog @TheFestiveOwl, includes varied genres. If confirmed, classic Woodstock acts would rub shoulders with the biggest names in pop, country and EDM!
Of course, many of the performers who were at the original Woodstock in August 1969 are no longer with us… But many are, as are other performers from the 60’s who didn’t play Woodstock. Under the “classic headliners” section, we also find modern names, such as 80’/90’s Vermont jam band Phish and rocker Bon Jovi…
However, this list is to be taken with a grain of salt. There are a few inconsistencies, such as the inclusion of Elton John, who is on a farewell tour, and would be unlikely to agree to play such a festival. There is also the inclusion of recently-deceased DJ Avicii, which is obviously not happening…
- Graham Nash
- Neil Young
- Santana
- The Who
- Phish
- Joan Baez
- Bon Jovi
- Bruce (Springsteen? No last name is specified...)
