Gwen Stefani went into the glasses business right when her eyesight started to get worse.
The Hollaback Girl singer recently released her fourth collection of sunglasses for her brand L.A.M.B. and a fresh line of optical ware for her gx by Gwen Stefani eyeglasses company after entering the spectacles business in 2016.
Although Gwen has been in the fashion business for 16 years with the launch of L.A.M.B. in 2003, she never thought to expand into glasses until her eyesight started fading.
"I have been a huge fan of sunglasses forever and been so blessed through my lifetime people sending me sunglasses," the 49 year old tells ET Online. "It shows exactly what kind of personality and style (you have) when you’re wearing sunglasses. But then when I started doing eyewear finally, it was right when I started needing glasses, so I was like, what would I wear if I had to wear glasses?"
Gwen insists everything she designs, be it an accessory or clothing, is truly an extension of her own life.
“Being able to design clothes, shoes and handbags, all those things are an extension of who you are," she explains.
Her latest offerings of eyewear include boldly shaped designs with floral prints and multi-colored tortoise shell patterns. Each pair has been crafted to match any outfit.
"You want it to make a statement, but you also don’t want it to be distracting. You want it to go with every kind of look you want to pull out," she shares.
