Montreal has been hit hard the past few days by what many are calling a “weather bomb” – 30 centimetres of snow last weekend were followed up by large quantities of freezing rain. After another temperature drop, the city is currently a mess; huge puddles of melted snow have frozen over, many sidewalks are dangerously slippery, roads are no better and our public transit network is suffering frequent delays.
Now, there is even more snow in the forecast! After a cold weekend with a mix of sun and cloud, Tuesday is expected to bring up to 20 centimetres of snow, with an additional 10 centimetres expected Wednesday.

Hey… At least the skiing should be decent! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
However, snow removal in the city is likely to be a nightmare…
Just yesterday, the city admitted the snow and ice would take at least until next Wednesday to clear. If we get even more snow, that delay could easily extend into the first weekend of February and beyond.
Stay tuned for more updates as the situation evolves.
