Pete Davidson has abruptly cancelled a stand-up gig, just one day before he was due to take to the stage.

The Saturday Night Live comedian, 25, was scheduled to perform at the South Orange Performing Arts Center in South Orange, New Jersey on Tuesday (19Feb19), but scrapped the show on Monday.

Ticketholders were told by the venue’s box office that Pete's show would be rescheduled due to an “unforeseen conflict.”

The sold-out show was only announced on Friday.

Disgruntled fans took to Twitter to voice their frustration, with one writing, "WTF (what the f**k)! The gig was just announced. Maybe there was a conflict. Maybe not. But to postpone the gig 25 hours before showtime because of a conflict?”

The cancellation comes just days after it was revealed Pete had covered up an Ariana Grande-inspired tattoo on the back of his neck.

Reading 'mille tendresse' - meaning 'a thousand tendernesses' - the tattoo that he once shared with Grande had been scribbled out in red ink and replaced by the word 'cursed' in a bold, black font.

Pete and Ariana called it quits in October (18), less than five months after their whirlwind relationship began.

The comedian has since been linked to actress Kate Beckinsale, 45, and the rumoured couple was spotted leaving the Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles, after Pete's comedy gig at the club earlier this month.

While Kate has been hitting back at online trolls who have been criticizing her reported relationship with the comedian, Pete is no longer on social media after his suicide scare last year.

Back in December, he worried friends and fans when he posted a concerning message on Instagram back in December.

"I really don't want to be on this earth anymore. I'm doing my best to stay here for you but i actually don't know how much longer i can last," Pete wrote, before deleting his account.
