Montreal – brace for a really bad weekend in the Turcot area as well as other closed areas this weekend. Many more sections than “usual” are closed and the authorities are anticipating that traffic will be quite heavy around the affected areas.
Many ramps in the Turcot interchange closed down Thursday night and more will be closed tonight. This unusual weekday closure was deemed necessary in order to demolish part of the old Hwy. 15 above Pullman Blvd.
On Sunday, the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will force a portion of Sainte-Catherine Street downtown to close for most of the day. The Beat 92.5 will have a float at this year’s parade. Details here!
In addition, Atwater North towards downtown will CLOSE COMPLETELY from 10pm Sunday until the middle of May. (Details under NUN’S ISLAND.)
TURCOT
Turcot is the most badly affected area, with a long list of complete and partial closures. Essentially, only fous ramps will remain open: 20-E to Ville Marie East and 15-S, and Ville Marie West to Décarie North and 20-W.

NUN’S ISLAND
MAJOR NEWS: Atwater North towards downtown will CLOSE COMPLETELY from 10pm Sunday until the middle of May. Here are the additional closures in the area – this weekend only.
- 15-N from exit 60 (Verdun / Wellington) to the next entry CLOSED 5 am Sunday to 6 am Monday
- Exit 60 (Gaétan-Laberge) CLOSED 10 pm Friday to 6 am Saturday
- Exit 58 (10-W / Downtown / Nun’s Island) COMPLETE CLOSURE from 6 am Saturday until the new Samuel-de-Champlain bridge inauguration
JACQUES-CARTIER
This weekend, there will be no access to Saint-Helen’s Island from Montreal via the Jacques-Cartier Bridge. Motorists coming from Montreal will be forced to take a detour via Saint-Laurent Street in Longueil before getting back onto the Jacques-Cartier Bridge to access Saint-Helen’s Island vie the East (Northbound) side of the bridge.
Exiting Saint-Helen’s Island, motorists will be forced to get on the East side of the bridge (Northbound). To get to the South Shore, you’ll have to take a detour via Maisonneuve OR René-Lévesque Boulevard and get back onto the bridge from there.
