Social media is one of the many things Meghan Markle gave up when she married Prince Harry and became royalty. But now, Meghan and Harry have their very own social media page on Instagram, it just opened today! British royals aren’t allowed to have their own personal social media – instead, each house manages public relations on a higher level.
When Prince Harry and his newlywed Meghan Markle became Duke and Duchess of Sussex, their social media presence was managed by Kensington Palace. Today, the Kensington Palace Instagram account, which also represents Will and Kate, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, announced the news with one final post featuring Harry & Meghan.
The page, dubbed @sussexroyal, is branded with an “M” logo – for Meghan – stylized with a bar across – “H” for Harry.
At the time of this writing, the brand new @sussexroyal Instagram page has been up for just 4 hours, and already has 741,000 followers, and climbing fast.
