British royal the Duchess of Sussex has influenced Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour's fashion sense.
During a sit down chat as part of the Women in the World summit last week (ends12April19), Wintour revealed the stylish former actress prompted her to rethink her signature look, which usually consists of tea length dresses, bob haircut and oversized sunglasses.
"I’ve been thinking a lot about suits recently so... thank you to the Duchess of Sussex!" she shared.
Wintour appreciates the 37 year old's frequent collaboration with local designers on her travels and her ability to honour royal protocol with her ensembles, while remaining a huge fashion influencer for modern women.
“When she went on that trip to Australia and New Zealand and she was very respectful in choosing a lot of unknown Australian designers to wear, which was great,” Wintour added. “But I think, more importantly, she’s really bringing modernity to the royal family in a way that is inspiring."
Wintour previously shared her admiration for the brunette beauty's style by gushing over the Givenchy gown she wore on her wedding day a year ago (Apr18).
"I think she’s amazing," Wintour said, adding the Duchess "looked fantastic".
And she also heaped praise on the former Meghan Markle for choosing to walk solo down the aisle after her father had to pull out of the wedding ceremony.
"I think the image that I have in my mind, which I think so many people from all over the world have in their mind, is the Duchess of Sussex walking down the aisle by herself," Anna shared. "That to me was representative of a modern woman, and then looking at her extraordinarily beautiful and proud mother in the pew, to me that symbolised that this is going to be a different day for the British royal family."
