Anne Hathaway has overhauled her beauty kit and is now only using eco-friendly products.
The Oscar-winning actress, known for her porcelain complexion and glossy brunette locks, always looks flawless when she steps out onto the red carpet.
While Anne undoubtedly has all the latest cosmetics at her fingertips, she has now shared that she is doing her bit to reduce waste by ditching plastic from her bathroom cabinet and by using sustainable products such as coconut oil whenever possible.
"The thing is, with the low-plastic lifestyle, I really have to choose what matters. I recently did a photoshoot with crazy eye make-up and temporary eyelashes that got glued under my real lashes. I couldn't wait to get them off, but then my make-up artist was like, 'Oh, I don't know how they come off. You probably want to use an oil-based remover,'" she recalled in an interview with U.S. Shape magazine. "I got home, and I had an old eye-makeup remover, but it wasn't oil based. So, to avoid buying more products in plastic containers, I used coconut oil, and it worked."
Anne went on to explain that she has a variety of other uses for coconut oil in her daily regime, and even mixes the versatile natural substance with jojoba oil and shea butter to make her own moisturizer. She will sometimes add in a few drops of essential oils for fragrance and always ensures to store the formula in glass bottles.
"And voila, you don't have to put plastic into the ocean because of it," the 36-year-old gushed.
Elsewhere in the chat, Anne spoke about how she has learned to make more time for herself since welcoming her son Jonathan, three, with husband Adam Shulman, and makes an effort to "build breaks" into her hectic schedule. The Hustle star spends her free time writing, cooking and focusing on her family.
"I make more time for the things that matter to me because suddenly I have more time," she smiled.
