Fan favourite television series Downton Abbey is making the jump to the big screen in 2019. An amazing trailer was just released, and it sets the scene for some very interesting developments at the Abbey…

If you haven’t already done so, watch the Downton Abbey film trailer here!

The TV series, which ran for six seasons from 2010 to 2015, is set in the fictional Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey between 1912 and 1926. The film is set in 1927, and will continue the story.

We are promised a rather exciting event with the visit of the King and Queen to Downton Abbey, announced by mail. Fans will surely adore the intense, rigorous preparation the Abbey must go through in order to be spic & span for Their Majesties.

“I want every surface to gleam and sparkle!”

We are also given a glimpse at the ongoing character development we can expect from this film. There is a deep relationship of trust and responsibility between Lady Mary Crawley and Mr. Carson. This will be essential to have the Abbey ready for the royal visit.

We also get a glimpse of a kiss shared between two men – this would, of course, have been scandalous at the time.

We are eagerly waiting for more information to become available about this exciting movie, which hits theatres on September 13, 2019.
