This Saturday evening, keep your eyes peeled for an … unusual … sight! To celebrate Batman’s 80th anniversary, Batman Day is organizing the illumination of “Bat Signals” around the world on September 21. Montreal is one of the cities getting one!

In fact, Montreal is the only Canadian city slated to get a Bat Signal projected. “In Montreal, the Bat-Signal will be projected on Complex Dupuis, facing the Emilie-Gamelin Square at 8pm,” DC Comics wrote on its website. This means it won’t exactly be projected into the sky as many would have hoped, but it’s still a cool tribute to a classic superhero character!

Other cities getting similar “Bat Signal” projections for Batman’s 80th include New York City, Melbourne, Tokyo, Berlin, Paris, Rome, London, Barcelona, Los Angeles, Mexico City and Sao Paolo. Many of these cities are also hosting fan celebrations, although nothing has been announced for Montreal yet.

Batman first appeared in issue #27 of ‘Detective Comics’ on March 30, 1939.
