Montreal will be the epicentre of a huge global climate strike day tomorrow (Friday, September 27, 2019). Climate activist Greta Thunberg will be leading the march, and City Hall has enacted measures to facilitate movements in and around Montreal.

For the occasion, the STM’s bus & metro network, as well as paratransit services, will be completely free. This is in part to encourage people to participate in the protest, but also to make it easier for people to get around. If you have the choice to leave your car home tomorrow and take public transit instead, it is highly recommended to do so!

In addition, the City is also making its Bixi rental service free from 9am to 3pm, in order to make it easier for people to get to and from the march. Since the march starts at the Georges-Étienne-Cartier monument, Bixi is setting up a big valet station nearby to facilitate drop-offs at the corner of Avenue du Parc and des Pins.
