Nick Jonas is joining U.S. talent show The Voice as a judge for next spring's season 18.

The pop star will pick up from Gwen Stefani and join Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson on the hit show.

Confirming the news on Monday night (07Oct19), NBC Entertainment president of Alternative and Reality Meredith Ahr said, "As a member of one of the hottest pop groups, Nick’s success in navigating all aspects of the music industry is exceptional.

"We were so impressed by his innate musicality, technical aptitude and passion that he brought to (U.S. songwriting talent show) Songland earlier this year and know he will be an incredible fit as a coach on The Voice."

Jonas shared the news while taping a segment for The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which airs on Tuesday, stating, "I’m so excited to be a part of The Voice family. It’s such an awesome group of individuals, and I can’t wait to help these artists really build and hone in to find their unique voices."
