Grasshopper found in arugula salad

A couple from Quebec sat down Sunday night for dinner and found a live grasshopper in their arugula salad measuring around 10 cm. The couple said that they had 2/3 of salad before noticing the live insect. They immediately transferred the grasshopper into a container and kept it alive for 3 days feeding it arugula until it died on Wednesday.

Luc Prévost, vice-president at VegPro International, said that the salad came from Florida and was packaged in Sherrington. The company has a system in place to check all the produce before packaging but the grasshopper must have slipped by the machines scanner. Check out the video here
