The way you present your CV has an overwhelming influence over whether or not your CV will even be read or considered by an employer. Sometimes it is overwhelming when you really want a job. So here are a few DOs and DON'TS on how to make your perfect CV.

  • Never tell a lie. Ever tell a white lie on your CV well that is a huge error.
  • Don't include irrelevant personal information. All the employer needs is your name and phone number in order to contact you.
  • Don't forget to include a cover letter. The best way to introduce yourself is through a well written cover letter, letting the employer know why you would be best fit for the position in their company.
  • Don't include unnecessary references. Only include your latest job reference and if your employer wants to know more they will ask.
  • Don't handwrite your CV ever.
  • Do add fluff. Bring out your personality in your CV to make the employer know you have something more to offer.
  • Don't add negative information. Do not add failed exams, failed businesses etc.
  • Do tailor your CV to the job you are applying for.
  • Don't make your CV more than 2 pages.
  • Don't mention money.
  • Don't use Jargon unless it is absolutely necessary.
