The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, announced Wednesday the creation of a billion dollar fund to counter the impact of the coronavirus. Half of this amount will go to the provinces, according to their needs.

In addition, Canadians who are unable to report for work because of COVID-19 will receive Employment Insurance benefits from the first day of their “unemployment”, without waiting period.

The Premier of Quebec, François Legault, for his part, recommended that government employees working in the health network should not travel abroad. He also called for the cancellation of school trips to countries at risk of contracting COVID-19.
