Premier Francois Legault is asking anyone getting back from travelling abroad or experiencing flu-like symptoms so self-isolate for 14 days and the province is banning all indoor events of more than 250 people.
Sophie Gregoire Trudeau has tested positive for COVID-19, so the prime minister Justin Trudeau will stay in self-isolation with his wife.
Closer to home, Quebec confirmed its 17th case of COVID-19 yesterday, and province is ramping up measures to make sure it stays contained. Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante announced Thursday the city is closing all sports and cultural centers (public pools and sports centres, including the Claude-Robillard sports complex, libraries, the Planetarium, the Botanical Gardens and more) The closures are effective as of Friday and will stay closed until further notice.
The city’s public transit system will stay open and run as usual, adding that the public should be careful to rigorously wash their hands after using the metro or bus.
Concerts are being cancelled, the StPatricks day Parade has been postponed and Major sports leagues, are suspended games and/or seasons - including, NHL and the NBA. SEE FULL LIST HERE

The province has set up a hotline for general COVID 19 questions, but if you, for a second, think you may have contracted COVID-19, don’t just go to a hospital - contact Info-Santé at 811 so a caseworker can book you an appointment at one of the three designated COVID-19 clinics. And yes, it might be hard to get through, to help, Quebec health authorities are calling on all retired nurses, and nurses on leave, to help Info-Santé with the influx of calls.
