Several people are preparing to isolate themselves by stocking up which is impacting various businesses. Amid the panic surrounding COVID-19 grocery stores are unable to stock up as fast as items are flying off the shelves.

In the West Island and the South Shore many essentials were missing such as:  milk, bread, toilet paper, cleaning products, and canned foods. The wait at the checkouts are long in several grocery stores and supermarkets. The toilet paper displays were literally robbed in almost all stores.

In emergency cases experts note that it is useful to have a week or two of supply of food and water.
