Montreal police declares state of emergency

The Montreal police declared a state of emergency for the first time since the 1998 ice storm. The new rule takes effect today, Monday March 23rd, 2020.

Since Premier Legault has banned gatherings of not more than two people at a time, The Montreal police officers have the power to break up groups and fine them up to $1,000.

This rule is in affect for an indefinite period of time.
