Deputy Premier Geneviève Guilbault announced this afternoon that Charlevoix and Rouyn-Noranda have been added to the list of Quebec territories banning all non-essential travel and are now being monitored closely by local and provincial police.

As of 4 o'clock this afternoon, police will be in place in both territories at road blocks to spot check all residents who are on the roads.

In terms of numbers, Quebec has now jumped to 6997 cases throughout the province; an increase of 896 since yesterday.

Our provincial government remains confident that our social distancing measures continue to be effective at limiting the spread of COVID-19, and that now is not the time to let our guard down.
