At his press conference today, Premier François Legault announced a prolonged closure of all non-essential stores, enterprises and services until May 4th 2020.
Initially, the Quebec government had estimated the closures to be in effect until April 13th; however, as the number of cases in the province continues to rise, these closures will be in effect for at least another month, and will reopen with the permission of health care leaders.
With that said, a recent Google study of 50 American states and 10 Canadian provinces and territories place the province of Quebec in the very top spot on the list of regions best respecting the social distancing protocols encouraged by health and political leaders.
Legault and his government are extremely proud of the province and are certain that our responsible actions are helping to save thousands of lives.
LE PANIER BLEU
It was also announced at the press conference that Quebec is launching an online, not for profit initiative to help support businesses across the province.
Le Panier Bleu is an online listing of local retailers complete with whatever items and resources you may be searching for, including sporting equipment, car tires and fashion items.
It also includes details for delivery and pickup of your purchases.
The website is now launched and ready for use at http://lepanierbleu.ca/
