Mayor Valérie Plante announced the cancellation of festivals, sporting events in order to limit public gathering throughout Montreal, until July 2 inclusive. The decision was made by the Government of Quebec.
Montréal has cancelled all cultural and sporting events on its territory until July 2, in order to limit public gatherings. It is a difficult decision because Montreal is a known destination for world class events and festivals. And we will be there to support our partners.
OTHER EVENTS
The F1: The 2020 Canadian Grand Prix scheduled for June 12th -14th has now been postponed. A statement was released by F1 owners stating they will have a revised calendar shortly. All tickets for the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix 2020 will continue to be valid. As soon as the new date of the Grand Prix is confirmed, all spectators will be informed of the available options.
NBA: postponed and may return mid June
NHL: Has not released a date yet but announced their goal is to resume play as soon as it is appropriate and prudent.
NFL: The NFL draft is still set to take place April 23-25 in Las Vegas, but with no audience.
NCAA: No date confirmed.
MLS: Postponed till mid-May at the earliest.
GOLF: The Masters moved from April to November 12. June’s U.S Open,has been rescheduled for Sept. 17-20. The PGA Championship moved from May 14-17 to Aug. 6-9. The ANA Inspiration moves to the week of Sept. 7. U.S. Women’s Open rescheduled for the week of Dec. 7th.
TENNIS: ATP and WTA events are suspended until at least July 13.
OLYMPICS: To start on July 24 in Tokyo.
UFC: No date confirmed.
NASCAR: Postponed all races till May 3rd.
