Trudeau paid tribute to the deadliest killing spree in Canadian history

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau used his COVID 19 briefing to pay tribute to those killed and injured in the Nova Scotia shooting over the weekend. The rampage has cost 18 lives including Heidi Stevenson’s, a 23-year member of the RCMP and mother of two. He also took a moment to thank all our first responders for risking their lives every day.

The shooter, a 51-year-old man, was also killed after going on a 12 hour shooting spree spanning 50 kilometers across northern Nova Scotia.

  • At one point he was actually wearing a police uniform and driving a fake police cruiser.
  • Heidi Stevenson, the RCMP officer who was killed was a 23-year member of the force and mother of two.
  • Elementary school teacher Lisa McCully as one of the victims.
