Legault reassures parents they will not be forced to send their children back to school

The Premier of Quebec François Legault, reports on the most recent assessment of the COVID-19 pandemic in the province. As of today there have been 93 more deaths bringing the total to 1134 in Quebec. There are 20,965 confirmed cases of COVID-19. 1,278 people are in the hospital, including 199 who are in intensive care.

Regarding the lack of staff in the CHSLDs, there is still missing 1000 health care professionals. Legault asked the Provincial government for 1,000 soldiers from The Canadian Armed Forces. Legault said, it will give us more resources to help with none medical jobs.

Outside of the residence social distancing measures are working. So Legault said that next week the Legault government will announce a plan to reopen schools and economy. He says this will be gradual in order to not see a new wave of the pandemic. 

Legault reassures parents they will not be forced to send their children back to school for the remainder of the school year if they do not want to.
