As Quebec is set to prepare a plan to gradually restart the economy in the coming days. The Montreal public transit system is preparing safety measures for your commute.

The STM is installing 176 touch-free hand sanitizers at metro station entrances. They’ll be in 126 buildings and 50 waterfront access points for at least three months. The first 125 distributors will be installed as of May 1st, and the rest will come by mid-May.

All commuters must follow the public health guidelines, keeping 2 metres apart when in a bus or metro. No matter what, don’t forget to follow all the public health guidelines and anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 should avoid using public transit altogether.

Although not confirmed to be mandatory Montreal is considering an option for those using public transit to wear a mask.

More details to come.
