The Montreal SPCA has started a petition hoping that more landlords will accept pets.

With July 1st looming, the SPCA wants landlords to realize tenants are often forced to abandon pets, in order to secure lodging.

The issue isn't only heartbreaking but in this Covid-10 world, it's dangerous. Shelters are operating with reduced staff. An influx of homeless animals will make the situation dire for both four-legged and two-legged caregivers.

The organization is looking to collect 25,000 signatures and can be found here: https://www.spca.com/en/petition-rentals/
