Parking rates will be reduced as of Saturday in hospitals. The first two hours will be free, while the maximum rate will reach between $ 7 and $ 10 per day depending on the region.

Health and Social Services Minister Danielle McCann confirmed on Monday that the rate cut that was announced last fall would come into effect. This pricing will apply in all establishments in the network, such as hospitals and CLSCs.

In the case of CHSLDs, there will be free access for two family members of each person accommodated. Free admission is maintained where it was already in force for visitors. Special rates will be granted to people who must attend a facility on a regular basis in order to receive care (chemotherapy or dialysis treatments, for example).

Quebec will compensate establishments for the loss of revenue. The measure will cost about $ 120 million a year.
