These major retails stores will close their doors in Canada

Before the Pandemic retails stores were already struggling, now due to COVID-19 these retail stores will be forced to close their doors. With the decreased of consumer spending and limited rent relief the retail industry is feeling the worst possible conditions.

These major retail companies are now looking at closures in 2020:

The Children's Place: On June 11th the children’s clothing store will close some of their locations in Canada and in the U.S.  Plus another 100 more stores next year.

Starbucks:  Starbucks plans to close 200 Canadian locations as part of a new two-year business plan.

Sail: On June 4th Sail announced they will close 4 stores in Quebec. A total of 12 outlets will remain open.

Thyme Maternity and Addition Elle:  As of June 1st Reitmans announced they will be their two store chains  Thyme Maternity and Addition Elle 

Victoria's Secret announced May 20th that they will be closing 13 Victoria Secret stores in Canada L Brands announced May 20 that it will close 13 of the 38 Victoria's Secret stores in Canada, as well as one Bath & Body Works location, as part of a larger restructuring that also affects the company's American operations.

Bath & Body Works announced May 20th that they will be closing one one Bath & Body Works location 

Aldo:  The Aldo Group announced on May 7th that it was entering creditor protection. The footwear retailer will gradually reopen some of its stores. There are an unspecified number of stores that are not expected to ever reopen.

Pier 1 announced Feb. 17th that it will close all of its stores in Canada.

Carlton Cards and Papyrus announced on Jan. 22nd, it was closing all of its stores in North America, including 76 Canadian locations.

Bench: The owner of apparel store announced on Jan. 22nd that all 24 locations will be closed.

Bose has announced that it will shut down all 24 remaining Canadian stores as part of the chain’s closure.

Links of London: Luxury brand Links of London announced Jan. 10 that all stores will be closed in Canada.
