Jean-Doré Beach is officially reopening to the public on July 11.
The park's head of communications, Gabrielle Meloche, confirmed the news to Narcity Québec.
As expected, the current Covid-19 situation is forcing new measures and visitors will have to reserve a time slot online in order to visit the beach.
There are four blocks to choose from:
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The changing rooms and lockers will not be accessible, so beach-goers will need to arrive showered and dressed in their swimsuits.
Children two years old and under are granted free access to the beach. Admission costs $4 for kids aged 3 to 13, and $8 for people aged 14 and older.
There are also family packs available (two adults and two children) for $20.
For the unfamiliar, this is the same area where island festival-goers usually flock to for the likes of Osheaga and Piknic Electronik. The beach may be manmade, but Jean-Doré boasts 15,000 square meters of outdoor space and is home to activities for all ages, from paddleboard yoga to beach volleyball. Normally, you can also rent sailboats, canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats, although it has been stated that the beach won’t be lending out any equipment or devices this summer.
