How to deal with this oppressive heat

While Montreal is going through its third heat wave this year, there are various ways to fight the extreme heat.
Here's an overview.

Temperatures will border records today in Quebec. Environment Canada has issued an extreme heat warning for the metropolitan area. The mercury should reach 35 degrees Celsius with a humidx factor between 40 and 43.

A heat wave is expected this week
 
The temperature will not drop below 20 degrees overnight. These conditions are expected to persist until Saturday. Environment Canada forecasts a maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius on Friday with a humidx of 43.

There are a number of precautions you can take to deal with this oppressive heat:

  • To drink a lot of water
  • Limit physical activities
  • Wear light clothing
  • Take a fresh shower or bath
  • Favor cool places
  • For people who work outside, it is recommended to take regular breaks.
  • Never leave people or animals in a parked vehicle.
