A group of parents are moving forward with a legal challenge to force Quebec to offer remote learning to any and all families that don’t want their children returning to class in person this fall, not just those at risk or who live with someone at risk.
The motion argues that requiring children to attend classes in person violates their parents' charter rights to make decisions that affect life and security – the motion should be filed by Monday.
The province announced more funding for schools yesterday. The education minister is worried kids are falling behind, so to help get them back up to speed they’re going to spend $20-million dollars promoting and hiring more technicians, tutors, and professors.
They’re also speeding up the process to allocate funds for students with learning disabilities, and they’re putting together a communication campaign to keep parents and students informed.
