The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the product could contain gluten

With so much going on around the world in 2020, the last thing you want to worry about is your chicken strips, but unfortunately, that just isn’t the case.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a consumer advisory on a brand of gluten-free chicken strips sold at various stores across the country for possible undeclared gluten.

Canadians are being warned not to consume President's Choice gluten-free chicken strips after several customers have reported side effects from consuming the food.

The CFIA said Saturday that one batch of the frozen chicken strips is believed to be affected by this anomaly. The batch in question was sold in 600-gram boxes with the UPC number 0 60383 20488 4 and stamped with the date 2021 AL 20.

While the product has not officially been recalled yet, the CFIA is recommending those with celiac disease or gluten intolerance to double-check their groceries and avoid consuming the product as it may cause severe reactions.

A food safety investigation is underway which may lead to a recall.
