Do you often feel sleepy after your lunch hour?

Yawning, reduced productivity and tiredness are common problem in the workplace. We have some tricks that might help you if you constantly feel tired, or get heavy eyelids after lunch.

There are a few tricks you can use:

Getting Enough Sleep

If you’re not getting enough sleep, it’s normal to feel sleepy in the afternoon. Irregular sleep may also have an impact on your daily energy levels. Bad sleeping habits are known to perturb your circadian rhythm.

Healthy Eating

Eating healthy and protein-rich meals, especially at breakfast and lunchtime, helps maintain good energy levels throughout the day.

Napping

Napping isn’t always an option in every workplace, but it’s still a good idea and it will usually help if you’re able to get a short nap in!

Avoid Sugar

Sugar offers a temporary boost in energy, but it comes at a cost: after a short boost, you’ll experience a crash. This means ingesting sugar as a way to gain energy is not the best solution.

Take a Walk

Going out to walk for just a few minutes really helps to reset your thoughts and gain energy. Go out and get the blood flowing next time you are feeling down in the afternoon!
