Was your mom constantly on your back about the smallest things? We’re betting if the answer is “yes”, then it drove you CRAZY, especially in your teenage years.

Well, it turns out all those years of nagging may have done you a big service!

Researchers from the University of Essex in England found that girls whose parents were stricter and had higher expectations generally were more likely to go to college and obtain high-paying jobs. They were also significantly less likely to become pregnant.

In school, the researchers were able to correlate less pushy parenting with poorer grades and lower wages once the child entered the work force.
