Lizzo is certain her past self would be "so proud" of what she has achieved.

The About Damn Time star - real name Melissa Jefferson - took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a series of photos showing her posing in a red swimsuit with cutout detailing.

In the accompanying caption, Lizzo reflected on how far she has come in relation to her health journey.

"I wasn't gonna post this on IG but 2021 me would be soooo proud of 2024 me," she wrote. "And I'm NOT only talking about my body if yall only KNEWWWW what I've done for my mental & emotional health in the last year..."

In addition, Lizzo teased plans to write new music.

"Wheeeew don't worry imma write a album about it (sic)," the 36-year-old added.

Earlier this week, Lizzo told fans she was currently on holiday in Bali, Indonesia.

Alongside a video of her standing in a black one-piece swimsuit out in the rain, she indicated that she was enjoying taking some time away from the spotlight.

"I'm taking a gap year & protecting my peace," she posted.

Back in April, Lizzo declared she was going to "quit" giving attention to "negative energy" and wanted to motivate others to do the same.

In August 2023, three former tour dancers filed a lawsuit against the Juice hitmaker, alleging sexual misconduct and hostile work conditions. Lizzo claimed the accusations were false and deemed them "sensationalised stories".

The lawsuit is currently on hold.
