Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t seem to be a fan of soft drinks.

Although Coca-Cola is one of the big sponsors of UEFA Euro 2020, that didn’t stop the Portuguese superstar from removing two bottles of the soft drink that were strategically placed in front of him as he sat down to speak with reporters during a press conference on Monday.

After moving the soda out of view, Ronaldo looked at the camera while holding up a bottle of water and said in Portuguese: "Water!"

As it turns out Ronaldo’s gesture for people to drink water instead of Coke may have cost the soda company $4 billion in market value as shares immediately dropped from $56.17 to $55.22 after the video of the incident went viral online. As of Thursday, Coca-Cola’s stock price was trading even lower, bringing its total market value down by $5.1 billion to $236.9 billion from $242 billion.

Anyone familiar with Ronaldo’s strict health diet shouldn’t be surprised. The 36-year-old knows a thing or two about eating healthy and has been vocal about how he avoids alcohol and carbonated drinks to help maintain his impressive physique.

"I can still compete with the best players and can still maintain the shape I was in when I was 20 years old," he recently told Men's Health of keeping fit.

"In football, you have basic points - from training well to eating properly to drinking properly and so on - but recovery for me and from my point of view is the most important thing," he added.
