Christmas markets are a gorgeous holiday tradition loved by families of many faiths and cultures! Sadly, Montreal’s “Grand Marché de Noël" is cancelled this year due to various logistical hurdles. But don’t worry – ANOTHER German-style Christmas market has been announced in Quebec City, and it promises to be breathtaking in every way!
The Quebec German Christmas Market opens Thursday, November 22, 2018 at 4 pm and will showcase “Bavarians traditional musicians, Quebec musicians, carolers, storytellers, traditional puppet shows, unique tasting of food and special drinks” all the way until its closure on December 23!
The Market will be open four days a week:
- Thursdays 11am-8pm
- Fridays 11am-9pm
- Saturdays 11am-8pm
- Sundays 11am-6pm

WHERE TO FIND IT
The Quebec German Christmas Market happens all around Quebec City Hall, in the old town: “A magical scenery, an impressive agenda filled with free activities and new arrivals from here and from Europe,” said chairwoman Britta Kröger.
ATTRACTIONS AND FESTIVITIES
Over 80 kiosks will be present at this year’s Market, which is in its 11th edition. The event attracted 136,000 visitors last year!
The star of the event will be the decorations – a giant illuminated Christmas tree, tons of lights and even a giant Advent calendar will enchant visitors. Cultural presentations are free of charge, and many gastronomical experiences will be offered as well!
