We all get a little nervous on our first day of school, whether it is your first day ever or even your in college. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you relieve the first day gitters.

  1. Develop your own routine before going to school. Wake up early, make yourself a coffee or tea, eat some breakfast, do some deep breathing.
  2. Plan an outfit, so you don't add to the stress in the morning, also prepare your lunch and backpack the night before.
  3. Listen to some calming music on the way to school.
  4. If you have the chance check out your classroom, campus before the first day. Knowing your surroundings before you get there, can help your nerves so you are able to know where you are going.
  5. Even though your shy, try to strike up a few conversations with classmates. They are probably just as she/nervous as you.
  6. Even if you are feeling incredibly nervous, put on a smile and a brave face.
  7. If you know some friends who are attending the same school, try and meet with them before class or at school so help you feel a lot less nervous.
  8. Sign up for activities or clubs. To help you meet new friends.
  9. Give yourself time to breathe! The first day of school is always overwhelming.
  10. Remember that everyone feels nervous on their first day.
