Montrealers and comedy lovers are getting one huge incentive to get Amazon Prime video, after the service announced today that it will be producing a docuseries about Just For Laughs. The series will follow a group of aspiring comedians as they go through the selection process for Montreal’s world-famous annual comedy festival.
Amazon representative Heather Schuster said the docuseries itself should be a riot!
“The Montreal Just for Laughs Festival New Faces showcase is well known for introducing the next generation of comedy talent to the world,” said Heather Schuster, Head of Unscripted, Amazon Originals. “We are excited to collaborate with the Festival to bring Prime members an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the burgeoning careers of some future stars, which will be both very funny and very poignant.”
Founded in 1983, Just For Laughs has international comedy festivals in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and Sydney. They also produce content for television, stand-up specials and live shows.
