Montreal is known for its terraces, beautiful outdoor spots along the main streets where you can enjoy food and drink in the sun. Summer finally feels like it’s on its way… Where will you enjoy your first outdoor meal and/or drink of the season?

We asked you on Facebook what your favourite terraces were… Now, based on your answers, we’ve come up with the TOP 5 terraces you NEED to try this summer. Check out the list below: 

5 – Annie’s Sur Le Lac 

Also known as “Annie’s Pub”, this quaint little terrace in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the nice weather, and as a bonus, you’ll be avoiding the downtown crowds!

4 – Le Richmond

This rare and unique terrasse is actually indoors, which makes for an inimitable atmosphere. The lounge here is also top-notch, yet leaves plenty of room for the tables. Located in Gryffintown, this is a must for when the weather is good!

3 – Bonsecours Terrace

In the heart of the Old Port, Bonsecours Terrace is an absolute Montreal classic. This is the perfect place for a date or romantic dinner, with endless possibilities for walking around and sightseeing, not to mention bars and clubs, before or after your date.

2 – Boris Bistro

This beautiful, shady terrace on McGill Street is basically a walled garden with an indoor restaurant attached. It’s one of the most beautiful and peaceful places to visit in town, and it’s perfect to unwind after a hard day’s work. You’ll need to call in advance to reserve (no online reservations)

1 – St-Ambroise Terrace

This beautiful plot of land is situated on the North side of Lachine Canal and offers magnificent views of the Canal. It’s right next to the bike path, so it’s perfect to cool off and refuel after that long bike ride. Plus, they brew their own beer locally and independently here, and it’s delicious! You’ll definitely want to come back once you’ve tried this.
