Montrealers, keep your eyes peeled for orange signs and your ears open for sirens as snow clearing operations begin after Sunday’s storm. The city has announced that snow loading is to begin TONIGHT (Monday, March 11) at 7:00 pm.
Sunday, a surprise late-season storm dropped 12 centimetres of snow on Montreal, making this the snowiest March 10 in the past 100 years.
The city announced it will be launching a vast snow removal operation on its official Twitter account. “Be sure to respect the signage to accelerate the operation,” they wrote.
Signs typically forbid parking on municipal streets between 7pm and 7am (installed before 3pm) OR between 7am and 7pm (installed before 8 pm). Detailed information including the snow removal map and operation progress: available on the INFO-Neige MTL app on Android and iOS.
Street signage always prevails over information posted online.
