The newly-inaugurated Pont Samuel-de-Champlain will see its first motorists crossing in the South direction Monday, July 1st. In the days leading up to this, closures and delays can be expected. Here’s everything you need to know about the “New Champlain” opening, as well as other road closures in & around Montreal this long weekend!
Beginning Friday evening at 10pm, the original Champlain Bridge will be closed in both directions for good. Over the weekend, workers will finish building the on-ramps and exits connecting the new bridge, forcing them to close highway 10/15/20 completely between Île-des-Soeurs and highway 30. The new Samuel-de-Champlain Bridge is slated to open in both directions at 11am.
Beginning at midnight, workers will also close all the existing on-and-off ramps to the original Champlain Bridge. This means motorists coming from Marie-Victorin in either direction will not be able to take highway 10/15/20. Those access ramps are set to be reopened at 11am Monday. Click here for a map.
