Holiday season is upon us! Here is what you can expect to be open and closed.
Shopping & Commercial Centres
Most stores will be open from 1 pm on December 26. Call in advance to check!
Some pharmacies and dépanneurs will be open on December 25.
Canada Post will not deliver any mail on December 25 or 26.
Municipal offices and the municipal court in Montreal are closed December 24 to January 2. Eco Centres are also closed until January 2.
For garbage collection services, some boroughs will maintain the regular schedule while others will be modified. Check the schedule online by clicking here, or call 311 if the information about Holiday hours for your area is not listed.
SAQ stores will be closed December 25 and January 1, and open December 26 and January 2 from 1 pm. Most SAQs will closed at 5 pm December 31, except for Express stores, which will close at 7 pm.
SQDC stores will be closed December 25 and January 1, and open from 1 pm to 9 pm December 26. They will have reduced hours (10 am to 5 pm) on December 31.
Sports & Cultural Centres
These facilities will have various opening hours during the Holidays. It’s best to check with your local centres by calling in advance to see if they’ll be open or closed.
Museums are closed on Christmas day, but open on December 26.

The STM will be open during the Holidays, including all-night metro access on New Year’s Eve. The best part is, children aged 6 to 11 can take public transit for FREE during the Holidays, provided they are accompanied by an adult with a valid fare.
