National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: Join the conversation with us!

Much of Canada will observe a second holiday today.

Sept. 30 marks the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to honour the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities.

Join us as we take some time to remember the survivors and all of those who have been affected because Every Child Matters.

Throughout the day we encourage everyone to wear orange t-shirts, learn more about the origin of Orange Shirt Day and explore the rich and diverse cultures, voices, experiences, and stories of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

Please take the time to read or watch Phyllis Webstad’s residential school story that has inspired the movement.

You may also consider a donation to one of the following organizations:

Orange Shirt society

Indian Residential School Survivors

First Nations Child & Family Caring Society

Assembly of Seven Generations (A7G)
