Uber Eats recently revealed their annual Cravings Report for 2021, and Canadian restaurants made it to the top of the list for the biggest supporters of local restaurants, safely getting their late night snack fix, and more.
Throughout the course of all that was curfews, work from home, and social distancing, Canadians relied on Uber Eats to be there.
“This year, Canadians wanted spice, extra pickles, and a lot of nuggets on the side. We also saw consumer behaviour shift, with more Canadians looking at delivery for convenience and grocery items, including french onion dip, salt and vinegar chips, and gummy bears.” says Lola Kassim, GM of Uber Eats Canada.
The report covered statistics on Canadian cities that were considered “Top Tippers”, “Health Nuts and Green Machines”, and even “Picky Eaters”.
However, one thing in the report that caught our eye was “Most Expensive Uber Eats Order”. With Vancouver taking first place in a $1,600 order, Montreal made #2 on that list for an order of more than $1,300.
According to Daily Hive, “[...] A representative of the Uber Eats report shared that Vancouver’s Gotham Steakhouse and Cocktail Bar received the massive order. As for Montreal, employees at the Poulet Rouge mall, at CF Promenades St-Bruno, were faced with the task of fulfilling the $1,300 order.”
They weren’t kidding when they said Montrealers love their food...
